Amazing on site Entertainment: Tip 19 of 20 to ensure the best experience at the Festival of Racing
The Festival is the highlight of the racing year at Down Royal and the 2013 Festival is set to be the best yet. It is a celebration of everything that Down Royal embodies from the best and bravest horses in the National Hunt world, to the colourful silks in the parade ring complementing the stunning and eye catching outfits on display on JNwine.com Ladies Day.
To add to the awesome racing on show over the two days, there are some fantastic on site entertainment additions. On Friday 1st November, the Red Hot Roosters will be on hand to get your Festival rocking from the moment you walk through the turnstiles. The WKD ladies will be on site to let you taste the various super products available from WKD including their amazing outfits! At 2:15pm the awesome Moscow Flyer will make his return to Down Royal as winner of the 2013 Hoof of Fame Competition. He will be paraded around the Parade ring and the winners enclosure so that everyone gets a chance to see this fantastic horse.
For Saturday 2nd November all we can say is get there early!! The gates will open at 11am and everything kicks off from then. The Red Hot Roosters will be back, but don't hang around to dance too long as there is a Racehorse to Riding Horse Parade at 11:15am. This is a celebration and exhibition of everything these racehorses have gone on to achieve when they have finished their track careers and illustrates what a vital part this class plays in ensuring the welfare of racehorses. The Mourne Seafood bar will be running hot and cold food bars on site, these are open to all racegoers and will be serving the best locally caught seafood. The Mourne Seafood bar is also generously providing the prizes for the 5 runners up in the Best Dressed Lady Competition. This competition is open to all female racegoers and the winner will walk away with an amazing 4 day trip to Dubai including a trip to Meydan racecourse. The winner will also receive a beautiful bouquet from Leckey and Golden florists. Powers Irish Whiskey will have two sampling bars on site to allow you to get a taste of their fantastic product and if you need a snack to keep you going, the Tayto team will be on hand to provide samples of their new honey roast ham crisps as well as the usual favourites.
