Colin McBratney trained, Marito, has an entry in the Silks@downroyal Hunters Steeplechase on Boxing Day. The ex Willie Mullins trained Marito is the highest rated entry in the race and comes to Down Royal in form after winning last two Point to Points.
Boxing Day at Down Royal is the other great Christmas tradition and has become a firm favourite for both families and racing enthusiasts alike. All hospitality options are now sold out for the Boxing Day race meeting at Down Royal however admission tickets are still available in advance and on the day at the turnstiles – all racegoers can enjoy our refurbished public bar area including Silks @downroyal, the Dark Horse Wine Bar and Café where winter warming festive fayre is available to purchase and there will be catering vans throughout the site.
The seven strong racecard provides an opportunity to wrap up warm and beat the ‘Boxing Day Blues’ with some top quality National Hunt racing. Our gates open 11.00am with the first race kicking off at 12.25pm (approx.) and the last at 3.30pm (approx.). Concession admission is £10 and children under 16 receive free admission. Entrance tickets will always be available at the turnstiles on the day.
