Henry De Bromhead-trained Identity Thief won the feature Grade 2 WKD Hurdle

30 Oct 2015

THE Henry De Bromhead-trained Identity Thief won the feature Grade 2 WKD Hurdle on day one of the Northern Ireland festival of racing at Down Royal. Identity Thief was heavily supported all morning before eventually being sent off the 15-8 favourite. Bryan Cooper sent him straight to the front and he never saw another rival on the way to a three and a half length win over Whiteout. The WKD Hurdle has served as an informative Champion Hurdle trial in recent years. Jezki won it in 2013 on the way to landing the opening day feature at the Cheltenham festival the following March, while Arctic Fire could not fend off the gutsy Little King Robin last year but went on to beat all bar Faugheen at the festival.
