DOWN ROYAL RACECOURSE PARTNERS WITH RACEHORSE TO RIDING HORSE IRELAND

Down Royal Racecourse are proud to once again sponsor the Racehorse to Riding Horse league in the Northern region as well as extending to individual classes south of the border including the festival at Boswell, Co Wicklow.
 
Racehorse to Riding Horse Ireland, run by Julie Morris, organises showing and performance classes to encourage ex-racehorses to be used in equine disciplines outside of racing. Down Royal is sponsoring the League of showing classes which are run on a retraining basis with score sheets designed to judge the horses on their control, obedience and manners, any blemishes or knocks are not taken into account.
 
Mike Todd, General Manager of Down Royal Racecourse, commented, "Down Royal Racecourse is pleased to fully support Julie in her aim to rehabilitate and retrain ex-racehorses to adapt to a life outside of racing. We hope that our support of this league as well as individual classes will encourage more competitors to take part and spread awareness of the potential of ex-racehorses.”
